Entrepreneurship may be challenging, but it sure does pay off. It requires a lot of hard work, determination, and planning. But with the right mindset and tools, you can achieve success in the world of entrepreneurship. With 2024 fast approaching, it’s time to start preparing for entrepreneurial success. In this article, we’ll discuss six steps to help you start your path to success in 2024.
Establish Your Plan For 2024 – I look forward to building my annual plan each December. Making plans for the upcoming year is an opportunity to dream big and then dream bigger than that. The first step to achieving entrepreneurial success is to establish a clear plan for 2024. This plan should include your business goals, marketing strategies, financial plans, and timeline. Be specific and realistic with your goals. Identify potential roadblocks and obstacles and brainstorm ways to overcome them. A clear plan will help you stay focused and motivated towards achieving your goals.
Create A Daily Routine – Successful entrepreneurs have proven that having a daily routine can help increase productivity and efficiency. Your routine should include time for exercise, learning, networking, and meaningful work. Set aside specific hours of the day for each task, and stick to your routine as much as possible. A solid daily routine will help you develop good habits and avoid burnout. My daily routine allows me to stay focused, be more productive, and gives me peace.
Gather All Your Assets – Digital, Physical, And Human – In today’s digital world, with the addition of artificial intelligence, things are changing daily. Ensure your website, social media accounts, email list, and other digital assets are organized and current. Having a digital management plan will help you streamline your work and save time in the long run.
Additionally, to achieve success, you will need ALL your assets aligned. Have an overview of all your digital and physical assets, including your professional network. Focus on developing your business relationships, as they could be the differentiating factor between success and waste. Also, remember to leverage your personal skills and physical assets such as your workspace and team. Your training matters and is often an overlooked asset.
Build Your Social Media Presence – I did not initially understand that Social media is a powerful tool for entrepreneurs. It allows you to engage with your audience, share valuable content, and promote your business. Platforms like X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram allow you to connect with potential customers and collaborators. Build a strong social media presence to increase your visibility and grow your business.
Get Accountable – Accountability is essential for achieving your goals. Find a mentor or accountability partner, or join a mastermind group. These resources can provide you with guidance, support, and motivation. Share your goals with others, and report on your progress regularly. A group or mentor will help you stay accountable and committed to achieving your goals. My LIFE Community, hosted by Convene Communities, is a free resource for passionate entrepreneurs with opportunities for accountability and more.
Take Action – The final step towards entrepreneurial success is to take action. Don’t let fear or self-doubt hold you back. Take bold and calculated risks and learn from your failures. Remember, every failure is an opportunity to learn and improve. Take action toward your daily goals, and never give up on your dreams. I have discovered being intentional about taking action is the key to great success.
Create The Future You Desire
Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint, that only those with endurance will win. By following these six steps, you’ll be well on your way to winning the race to entrepreneurial success in 2024. Establish a clear plan, create a daily routine, gather all your digital assets, build your social media presence, get accountable, and take action daily. Taking action is the key pillar to achieving entrepreneurial success. Remember, living your best life NOW is only possible if you focus on No Opportunities Wasted. It’s time to create the future you desire!

As I celebrate my 61st birthday, I can’t help but reflect on the things I know for sure. It’s been a journey filled with ups and downs, but the one thing that has remained constant is gratitude. I am grateful for the things I have accomplished and the people who have helped me along the way. In this article, I want to share my reflections on what I know for sure, starting with gratitude. If you are an entrepreneur looking to live your best life, join me on this journey.
Be Grateful
Gratitude is the cornerstone of a happy life; there is no substitute for it. Whenever I feel down, I remind myself of the things I am grateful for. It’s easy to get caught up in the negative aspects of life, but gratitude shifts your focus to the positive things. As an entrepreneur, you might face many challenges that can make you feel discouraged. But, if you cultivate an attitude of gratitude, it will give you the strength to carry on and persevere.
Life Is Precious
The second thing I know for sure is that life is precious, and we should make the most out of every moment. There was a time when I did not feel this way. I thank God for the National Crisis Hotline. Anyone can dial 988, Veterans Press (1), if you feel like harming yourself to talk with someone 24/7. I made the call, and I am still here. I now realize time is a finite resource, and we don’t know how much of it we have left, and we should live it to the fullest. I have also come to understand that it is essential to live purposefully and intentionally. As an entrepreneur, you should be clear on your goals and ensure that each day brings you closer to achieving them. Please don’t wait for the perfect moment or the perfect opportunity; seize the day and make it count.
Build Meaningful Relationships
Thirdly, I know for sure that relationships are vital to our well-being and success. We were created to live in community, and we thrive when we have meaningful connections with others. In my personal life, I have chosen to love like there is no heartbreak. In business, meaningful relationships that help me grow bring me joy and give me strength. As an entrepreneur, please do not neglect your personal life; it should be your anchor. In your business, you should build a network of supportive people who can help you achieve your goals. Don’t be afraid to reach out to mentors, colleagues, or even competitors. You might be surprised at how much you can learn from others and how much they can teach you.
Failure Not An Option
The fourth thing I know for sure is that failures are part of the journey. However, it has NEVER been an option for me. You will fail numerous times as an entrepreneur, but that doesn’t mean you should give up. My mother told me when you FAIL, you simply Find Another Idea Later. Her words allowed me to always use failures as learning opportunities and keep moving forward. Success is often the result of multiple failures, and it takes a lot of courage to try again after being knocked down. Remember, failure is not the opposite of success; it’s part of the process, so find another idea and keep it moving!
Purpose Gives You Power
Lastly, I know for sure that a sense of purpose is a powerful motivator. I want to support passionate entrepreneurs in closing the gap between their desires and reality at an affordable price in The Soulutionist Portal, hosted on the Convene Communities platform inside my free-to-join LIFE Community. I want to encourage them to create harmony in their minds, bodies, and soul so they can live their best lives. All while doing business their way. Having a clear vision of what you want to achieve energizes you to take action and keep going. As an entrepreneur, you should be driven by a sense of purpose that goes beyond profit or personal gain. Imagine what you could make happen if your business is a force for good and strives to impact the world positively.
Live Your Best Life NOW!
As I celebrate my 61st birthday, I am grateful for the things I know for sure. Gratitude is a daily necessity; living purposefully brings me joy; building relationships gives me strength; loving like there is no heartbreak brings me peace; embracing failure is not an option; I can find another idea later, and having a sense of purpose is a requirement. At the same time, I believe helping one person daily is essential to living my best life. As an entrepreneur, whatever your age, you have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the world, and I encourage you to seize the day and make the most out of every moment. Remember, NOW stands for No Opportunity Wasted, so go out there and make the most out of your life. Life is not a dress rehearsal. Do you have a PLANS? Whether you are an entrepreneur or not, having PLANS is essential for achieving success. The word PLANS may seem like a collection of letters, but if you break it down, you will see that it has a deeper meaning. PLANS stands for Passion, Learning, Action, Network, and Systems. These five elements are the key to achieving your goals and realizing your full potential. In this article, we will explore the power of each component of PLANS and how they can help you live your best life now.
Passion
The importance of having a passion for what you do cannot be overstated. I am incredibly passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners in closing the gap between their desires and their reality. Passion is the fire that drives you to work hard, strive for excellence, and overcome obstacles. It keeps you motivated and focused on your goal. When you are passionate about what you do, you are likelier to put in the effort necessary to succeed. As an entrepreneur, you need to be passionate about your business idea. Suppose you need more clarity about your why? Be willing to take time to gain clarity, or it will be challenging to motivate yourself when things get tough. Find a business idea that aligns with your values and interests, and work hard to make it a reality.
Learning
Learning is a life-long process; as an entrepreneur, you must constantly learn and grow to stay ahead of the competition. Please keep learning about your industry, target market, and the latest trends and technologies to help grow your business. I have learned that creating a daily learning practice is one way to ensure success. You can never know too much; the more you learn, the more you can apply to your business. Take advantage of online resources, read books, attend seminars or conferences, and network with industry people to stay current.
Action
All the Passion and Learning in the world will only amount to something if you take action. Taking action means putting in the time and effort needed to turn your dreams into reality. It involves setting goals, creating a roadmap, and taking deliberate steps towards them. When I started writing articles on LinkedIn, I aimed to write one a week. It was a difficult task with my already packed schedule and mental challenges. However, I have been able to make it work. As an entrepreneur, you need to be proactive and take calculated risks. You must be willing to fail fast, learn from your mistakes, and keep moving forward. Successful entrepreneurs take action, even when the odds are against them.
Network
Networking is a crucial aspect of building a successful business. Networking means building relationships with people in your industry, potential customers, and other entrepreneurs who can offer mentorship and advice. Networking helps you learn from others and find opportunities for collaboration and growth. Join online groups and attend events in your industry to meet like-minded people and make valuable connections.
Systems
Lastly, successful entrepreneurs have systems in place. The systems I have in place help me streamline my processes, saving me time, money, and energy. Developing systems for your business can also help you maintain consistency and quality in your products and services. Identify the key processes in your business and create a system to manage them. Systems could range from developing a sales process to automating your social media posts. With systems in place, you will be better equipped to scale and grow your business.
Do You Have PLANS?
Adopting a PLANS mindset is the key to living your best life, NOW – No Opportunity Wasted. Passion, Learning, Action, Network, and Systems are the building blocks of success for any entrepreneur. Adopting these five principles will help you stay focused, motivated, and on track toward reaching your goals. Remember, success is not overnight; it is a journey, and building your plan will take time and effort. Trust the process and keep moving forward. So, what are you waiting for? Start planning and take the first step toward achieving your dreams by making PLANS. Need help with your PLANS? As an entrepreneur, you are no stranger to challenges. But sometimes, the biggest obstacles are the excuses we make for ourselves. I was the queen of excuses. I allowed excuses to keep me from living my best life. Let us break down the top six excuses that once limited my success and could be limiting your success and explore actionable steps to overcome them.
1. “I don’t know how.” This is one of the most common excuses but also one of the easiest to overcome. We live in an information age, where knowledge is at our fingertips.
- Seek out a mentor. Find someone who has already achieved what you want to do and learn from their experience. Finding Mentors was one of the most brilliant things I did for myself.
- Educate yourself. Countless resources available online, from eBooks to online courses and coaching, can teach you practically anything.
- Learn by doing. Sometimes, the best way to learn is by rolling up your sleeves and getting started. I set aside time daily just for learning and hands-on practice.
2. “I’m afraid.” Fear is a natural human emotion that should not hinder your success. Remember, most fears are socially based and rarely have real consequences. I have learned not to be concerned with what other people think. Trust your gut and own your choices.
- Acknowledge your fear. It is okay to be scared. Recognize your fear and then move past it. By acknowledging your fear, you can begin to face everything and rise.
- Take small steps. You don’t have to dive headfirst into your fear. Take small, manageable steps towards overcoming it.
- Visualize success. Imagine yourself succeeding and using that as motivation to push past your fear.
3. “I don’t have enough time.” Time is a precious commodity, especially for entrepreneurs. But remember, we make time for what’s important to us. How often have you watched TV or scrolled through social media during your busy time? Be intentional about making time work for you.
- Prioritize your tasks. Not all tasks are created equally. Identify what’s truly important and focus your time there.
- Eliminate time-wasters. Cut out non-productive activities from your day. You’ll be surprised at how much time you can free up.
- Use time management tools. Tools like calendars, to-do lists, and time-tracking apps can help you make the most of your day. Time blocking is one of my favorite time management practices.
4. “I don’t have enough money.” Financial constraints can be challenging, but they shouldn’t stop you from pursuing your dreams. With all the many options available for training, programs, etc., make time to research the cost-effective and free options.
- Get creative. There is usually a workaround for financial constraints. Think outside the box and find alternative solutions. I had garage sales and sold my excess shoes to pay for a mastermind I wanted to attend.
- Seek out financial resources. There are numerous grants, loans, and investment opportunities available for entrepreneurs.
- Start small. You don’t need a huge budget to start a business. Start with what you have and grow from there. Many entrepreneurs start online businesses with as little as a mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
5. “It’s too late for me.” There is always time to start. In fact, many successful entrepreneurs started their ventures later in life. According to SCORE.org, 33% of U.S. small business owners are between 50 and 59, 17% are 60 to 69, and 4% are 70 and up.
- Embrace the challenge. Starting late might be more difficult, but it also means you’re more likely to pursue something truly meaningful to you.
- Seek inspiration. Look to others who have achieved success later in life for motivation.
- Start now. The best time to start was yesterday. The second best time is now.
6. “It’s too hard.” Yes, entrepreneurship is hard. But that does not mean it is impossible. When I started, the most challenging part was deciding what to do and adjusting my mindset to make it happen.
- Believe in yourself. You have the skills and determination to succeed. Believe in your ability to overcome challenges.
- Break it down. Big tasks can seem daunting. Break them down into smaller, manageable tasks.
- Stay committed. Success often comes down to who will stick it out the longest. Stay committed and keep pushing forward.

Today marks a special day as we celebrate the National Roof Over Your Head Day and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. During this time, we reflect on our blessings and acknowledge the challenges we encountered. As an entrepreneur, I can’t help but think about the significant role these two celebrations play in my life. They inspire me to live my best life now and always remember that every day is an opportunity to make a difference.
Being Grateful
As I look back over my life, I cannot help but be grateful for my blessings today. I have a roof over my head and disabilities received during my time in the military that are not visible to the naked eye. I am humbled by the grace of God and the support of friends and loved ones who have helped me overcome challenges and become a better person. As I embrace gratitude on this particular day, I want to share how I maintain my sense of peace and positivity amidst life’s ups and downs. I hope this helps you as well.
Embrace A Positive Mindset
One of the keys to living your best life now is cultivating a positive mindset. Working on my mindset has been the key to me achieving my goals. Start your day with gratitude and set intentions that align with your goals. Instead of focusing on what you lack, focus on what you have and what you can achieve. Surround yourself with positivity and seek support from those who motivate and inspire you. My friend Lisa Ducharme, the 15 Minute Results Coach and AI Expert is one of the clear and positive voices I can count on. She and others in my life who challenge me are crucial to maintaining a positive mindset.
Have A Sense of Purpose
As an entrepreneur, having a sense of purpose and engaging in activities that bring meaning to your life is essential. Each day I rise, I look forward to seeing who I will be able to help that day. I am passionate about assisting others to close the gap between their desires and reality. Use your skills and talents to contribute to society and make a difference in the lives of others. Find a cause that aligns with your passions and positively impacts your community. Remember, even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Take Care of Your Physical And Mental Health
While pursuing my passion, I have not always done what was necessary to maintain harmony for my physical and mental health. I choose to put work ahead of health, which costs me significantly. Your health is your wealth. Do not go broke. I encourage you to prioritize taking care of your physical and mental health to live your best life. Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and get enough sleep to recharge your batteries. Practice mindfulness and meditation to manage stress and improve your mental wellbeing. Seek professional help if needed, and make self-care a non-negotiable priority.
Connect With Others
Human connection is essential for our health and wellbeing. I have discovered a sure way to wreck my mental health is to isolate. Make time to connect with others and build strong, positive relationships. Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you, and be there for others in their times of need. Join groups and social communities like Convene Communities that share your interests and values and create opportunities for meaningful interactions.
Never Stop Learning and Growing
I am a lifelong learner. There is not a day that I do not learn something new; it allows me to continue growing. You may not be that extreme; however, to live your best life now, you must never stop learning and growing. Invest in your personal and professional development and adopt a growth mindset. Seek out new experiences and challenges that push you beyond your comfort zone and help you reach your full potential.
Take A Way
On this particular day, let us embrace gratitude and peace and celebrate the blessings in our lives. As entrepreneurs, let us remember that every day is an opportunity to make a difference and strive to live our best life now. We can overcome challenges and achieve our dreams by cultivating a positive mindset, having a sense of purpose, taking care of our physical and mental health, connecting with others, and never stopping learning and growing. Remember, no opportunity will be wasted when we embrace the power of gratitude and positivity to live our best life now. If you need help with your business, join me on Convene Communities for free.
